Engagement is key to creating change at the community level. That’s why it’s imperative that we live our mission by giving back to the communities that we serve. Through NEXT, we’re able to connect young people to their communities and to one another through community service, social marketing, advocacy, and policy initiatives.

Spring Break Workshop: We were joined by Pastor Michael Hunt from The Covenant Church in Annapolis, MD. Pastor Mike for youth further develop skills through collaboration and unity!
We Up! Conference: During the We Up Empowerment event, our city’s youth come together for an interactive conference that taught them how to develop a collective voice and implement collaborative leadership skills. Through this actionable program, our children gained the knowledge and power to become agents of change in their communities and proactive representatives for future generations.
COGIC Midwest Regional Youth Conference: NEXT partnered with COGIC to host their annual Auxiliaries in Ministry (AIM) Conference. The conference included NEXT training sessions to celebrating sober living through bounce houses, live music, community resources, advocacy activities, voter registration, food giveaways, and more!
Photovoice Kit:
NEXT youth from Omaha and surrounding areas were tasked with capturing photographs to visually represent how alcohol “looks” in their communities. They captioned the photos and displayed them at the Bancroft Street Market, where community decision makers were invited to discuss issues of underage drinking and how alcohol is portrayed to the youth.
